چکیده
sequent studies included heavy metals, dyes, metabolites and antimetabolites, hormones and vitamins, mitotic poisons and carcinostatic agents. Results ob tained in these investigations will be reviewed more extensively elsewhere (18). The present study was undertaken to examine the possible additive or synergistic effects of selected chemicals on animal tumors, when administered in combination with tumor irradiation with x-rays. Most of the materials were chosen because of their known anti-tumor activity.

With the development of science and technology, microwave has been used in many fields such as industry, military, medicine and communication. People are living in a lapped and dynamic electromagnetic environment. Concerns about potential hazards of microwave are getting increasing attentions. The single biological effects of microwave were widely discussed which was considered harmful. Relevan...
متن کاملAntineoplastic activity of the combination of interferon and cytotoxic agents against experimental and human malignancies: a review.
The combination of interferon (IFN) and conventional chemotherapeutic agents offers a promising therapeutic approach for the treatment of cancer. However, there is as yet no consensus on optimal strategies for combining this family of compounds with other cancer therapies. While in vitro studies have demonstrated both direct cytotoxic and cytokinetic effects for IFN, a more interesting role der...

Background and objectives: Nasturtium officinale W.T.Aiton (Brassicaceae) is used as an edible vegetable in various parts of Iran. The aim of the present study was to investigate the protective activity of the methanolic extract of Nasturtium officinale against gamma-radiation-induced hepatotoxicity in terms of histopathological changes. Methods: Male C57 mice were divided int...
متن کاملγ-H2AX as a protein biomarker for radiation exposure response in ductal carcinoma breast tumors: Experimental evidence and literature review
Background: H2AX is a histone variant that is systematically found and ubiquitously distributed throughout the genome. DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) induce phosphorylation of H2AX at serine 139 (γH2AX), an immunocytochemical assay with antibodies recognizing γH2AX has become the gold standard for the detection of DSBs. The importance of this assay to investigate different individu...
